Position Summary

The Business Analyst will support strategic initiatives and enterprise projects across the bank under the guidance of senior team members and project leadership. This role will collaborate with business units, operations, technology, risk, finance, compliance, and external partners to gather and document requirements, map current- and future-state processes, assist with gap analysis, support testing and implementation activities, and contribute to organizational readiness for change. The ideal candidate has foundational business analysis experience, strong analytical and communication skills, an interest in banking and financial services, and the ability to learn quickly while supporting multiple workstreams.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Business and Functional Requirements: Assist with stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and workshops to gather, clarify, and document business, functional, operational, and reporting requirements for strategic initiatives and enterprise projects.
• Business Documentation: Prepare and maintain clear requirements, use cases, user stories, process maps, business rules, meeting notes, and decision documentation using established templates and standards.
• Testing and Validation: Assist with the development of business test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria; support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect tracking, and validation of workflows and controls.
• Stakeholder and Vendor Coordination: Coordinate follow-ups among business stakeholders, project leadership, technology teams, and third-party vendors; track questions, decisions, issues, and dependencies and escalate items requiring resolution.
• Operational Readiness and Change Support: Assist with procedure updates, training materials, business readiness checklists, communications, and implementation support for impacted teams.
• Governance and Reporting: Maintain organized, accurate, and audit-ready project documentation, including requirements, process maps, action items, risks, assumptions, issues, and status updates.
• Continuous Improvement: Support the identification and documentation of opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and improve the customer and employee experience across the bank.

Working Conditions

• Normal office environment; extensive use of computer; lifting up to 30lbs. The incumbent will be expected to be able to work Monday through Friday; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Travel

• Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.

Qualifications Summary

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

• Three to five years of experience in business analysis, project support, operations, technology, or a related field. Experience in banking or financial services, process improvement, system implementation, or testing is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Foundational understanding of business operations and experience in banking products, processes, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Working knowledge of requirements gathering, process mapping, and business documentation techniques.
• Ability to organize and document information clearly using requirements, user stories, process maps, business rules, meeting notes, and action logs.
• Experience or familiarity with project delivery approaches, including waterfall, agile, and hybrid methodologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Microsoft Visio, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools is preferred.
• Experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, process improvement efforts, testing, issue tracking, or business readiness activities.
• Ability to develop and execute test scenarios with guidance, document results, and identify outcomes that do not meet business requirements.
• Awareness of operational controls, risk considerations, and regulatory requirements, with a willingness to build banking-specific knowledge.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate professionally with business units, technology teams, project leaders, and third-party vendors.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organize information, ask thoughtful questions, identify patterns, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Detail-oriented, organized, dependable, and receptive to feedback, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
